Stamping Vintage Sewing Patterns

Stamping Vintage Sewing Patterns

Let's talk vintage sewing patterns! We sell them in packs that include a variety of patina tissue as well as some of the instruction booklets that have great illustrations.  Pattern tissue is semi-transparent making it a great medium in paper crafting. I often use the patterns arrows, dashes and word as they are when collaging and layering in my project. However, depending on the pattern, there are blank areas too. Try mark making and stamping on these areas to give them appeal!

First cut up your pattern and organize sections that can be used with the provided typography from sections that are blank. I will always keep some blank pieces but most I will stamp and embellish with mark making.

You can use store bought stamps, hand carved stamps or items laying around the house to create patterns. We recommend using an ink pad when stamping but if you don't have one, you can use a thin layer of paint.

Other options are markers and paint pens!
